Meeting for Reflection

In keeping with Quaker practice, our community gathers weekly for Meeting for Reflection with fellow students and teachers. This time together offers a mindful pause from the activity of the school day, creating space to be present and attentive in the moment.

Meeting begins in silence, allowing us to settle. Learning to be centered in silence offers a shift from doing and thinking to simply being. During the meeting, anyone may feel moved to speak—offering a thought, idea, or inspiration. After each message, we return to silence, holding what was shared with compassion and open awareness.

The meeting concludes when the elders initiate a handshake. At our school, fifth and eighth grade students serve as elders, guiding Meeting for Reflection in the lower and middle school communities.

Parents and community members are welcome to join us for Meeting for Reflection.
